The new announcement
RIVANNA announced on October 22, 2026, that BoneEnhance, its anatomy-segmentation software for Accuro XV, had received FDA 510(k) clearance. The release was issued at 14:00 Eastern Time; it does not identify the decision date or a new submission number.
A 510(k) clearance is a substantial-equivalence determination under the FDA’s premarket notification pathway, not premarket approval. The reported software milestone should also be distinguished from the platform’s earlier hardware clearance.
Where the probe fits
The earlier Accuro XV record, K254021, carries an April 9, 2026 FDA decision letter. Its indications describe a conformable three-dimensional probe that automates acquisition after patient positioning, supporting conventional and superficial musculoskeletal B-mode imaging. This is background documentation for the imaging system, not the new BoneEnhance clearance record.
According to the new release, BoneEnhance adds tissue labels and colored overlays during review while retaining the underlying B-mode image. A separate injury-detection module remains investigational. Labeling anatomy and identifying a fracture are different tasks.

Read the metric in context
RIVANNA reports testing on 233 volumes from 173 subjects at five sites separate from its three training sites. Reported per-volume anatomical-label accuracy was 95.1–100%. Those numbers describe labeling performance, not fracture-detection sensitivity, and the company’s eight-site validation should not be confused with its subsequently expanded study network.
Editorial interpretation
AZNO’s buyer perspective
When comparing an automated probe proposal, ask suppliers to itemize acquisition hardware, review software, and diagnostic functions separately. Request the exact software version, applicable instructions, local regulatory status, training requirements, and included support. A demonstration of an overlay answers a different question from evidence about diagnosis or workflow outcomes.
AZNO has not tested this system and is not announcing stock, pricing, a partnership, or a recommendation to replace another imaging method.
