EchoNous Introduces Torso NXT with a User-Replaceable Cable
The new Kosmos transducer puts cable replacement at the centre of its serviceability story. That is a specific maintenance feature—not evidence that every probe fault can be repaired on site.

Manufacturer announcement
A replaceable cable—not a repair-all promise
EchoNous introduced Torso NXT on October 19 as a new transducer for its Kosmos ultrasound platform. The practical service change is a wired cable designed to be replaced by the user, secured to the probe through a reinforced screw-locking collar.
The company says clinical or biomedical engineering teams can replace a worn cable on site rather than sending the entire probe away. That describes cable serviceability; it does not establish a remedy for array, lens or internal-electronics faults.
Manufacturer design claims
Smaller housing, with the comparison kept clear
EchoNous’s product page advertises a 360-degree grip and a 50% reduction in volume. The launch release describes a smaller, narrower design than its predecessor. These are manufacturer claims, not AZNO measurements; a volume reduction is not a weight reduction or proof of better image quality.
Market and regulatory scope
Compatibility and US availability
EchoNous says US availability begins with the announcement and lists Kosmos Mobile, Kosmos Plus, Kosmos Tablet G1 and Kosmos Link as compatible platforms. It describes cardiac, lung, abdominal and bladder imaging, with AI-assisted and Doppler tools. Feature availability varies by market.
The company associates Torso NXT with the existing K212100 clearance. The FDA database names Kosmos and dates that decision to August 6, 2021; it is not a new October 2026 clearance specifically naming Torso NXT. Confirm the supplied version and local authorisation with EchoNous.
AZNO buyer questions — not manufacturer instructions
What to ask before buying or budgeting for service
Ask for the exact replacement-cable identifier, price, supply route and written warranty conditions. Request the manufacturer’s replacement instructions and any required checks before the equipment returns to use; this article is not a replacement procedure.
Compare the complete service quotation, including shipping and evaluation charges where applicable. The sources reviewed do not establish a cable price, measured turnaround saving or guaranteed reduction in total ownership cost.
AZNO has not tested Torso NXT, measured its image quality or confirmed a stocking or authorised-service relationship with EchoNous.
